Chewbacca, a Common Wombat (Vombatus ursinus)

Happy Birthday, Chewbacca!

Chewbacca is a very special Common Wombat (also refered to as a Bare-nosed wombat) who lives in the Tama Zoo in Tokyo, Japan.

Chewbacca celebrated his 19th birthday in March 2004.

Nineteen years is quite a long time for a wombat to live. We hope Chewbacca will be around to celebrate many more birthdays to come!
