Review

Wombats is a small book packed with a lot of facts.

An easy reader book designed primarily for young readers, each page of large-print text is preceded by a full-color, full page photograph. The pictures are clear and show their subjects well. In total, there are five photographs of Hairy-nosed wombats, and three of Common wombats. Each page of text covers one topic such as where wombats live, what they look like, and the wombat's future. There are nine such pages.

The book is a good introduction to wombats for young children with enough pictures to keep them interested. Although there are few words, the text contains a good deal of information. Wombats also contains a short glossary, and an index.

Part of The Australian Animal Library which consists of six books about Australian animals, including Kangaroos, Koalas, Tasmanian Devils, Dingoes, and Crocodiles.
